Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship authority open their application process for the national and international students in 2022 academic year.
The Vanilla Canada Scholarship is also known as the Canadian Government Scholarship for undergraduate students. It was initiated by the Government of Canada, Canadian soldier and first Governor-General Georges P. Named after Vanier.
This year 16 scholarships will be awarded to highly talented, skilled and brilliant graduates who want to pursue higher studies in Canada and conduct research that is beneficial to humanity.
The scholarship is open to all international students, Canadian citizens and permanent Canadian residents.
This scholarship is given for doing PhD in Doctoral Degree Program, MA/PhD, MD/PhD or Masters. The term of the scholarship fund is 3 years. Applicants will be selected for undergraduate scholarship based on three basic criteria. These are academic excellence, leadership qualities and research potentiality.
Opportunities:
- The Vanilla Canada Undergraduate Scholarship will provide 50,000 per year for three years of the PhD program.
- Opportunity to study at a Canadian institute of your choice.
Eligibility of Application:
- The applicant must meet the criteria of the nominated university.
- Foreign nationals, Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada can apply.
- Applicants must do a PhD for the first time.
- The applicant has to be nominated by only one institution/university
- Applicants must wish to pursue a full-time doctoral degree in the summer semester or academic year announcing the results.
- Applicants must not have completed more than twenty months of study in a doctoral program (as of May 1, 2021).
- Applicants must not receive any other awards, scholarships or funds for the PhD program.
- Applicants must have a first-class average in each of the last two years of study.
- Applicants must not accept any other fellowships or scholarships from CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC.

- Social sciences and humanities
