Bangladeshi Universities Position in QS University Ranking

Four universities in Bangladesh have been included in the list of university rankings in the UK-based Quakequareli Symonds (QS) survey. The QS Ranking showed that for the third time in a row, University of Dhaka (DU) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) are in the 801-1000th place.

On 9th June, 2021 (Wednesday), the organization's website published a list of 1,300 best universities, entitled QS World University Rankings 2022. 

QS University Ranking showed that for the first time, BD's two private universities, namely BRAC and North South University (NSU), have taken place with two public universities of the country.

These two universities are in the 1001-1200th position in the list. The specific positions and scores of the top 500 universities are published in the QS rankings.

As four universities in Bangladesh are not among them, for these their specific position and score were not mentioned.

The internationally recognized QS rankings were published jointly with the Times Higher Education, a UK-based education magazine from 2004 to 2009; QS became separate in 2010.

QS evaluates universities by a total of 100 marks in six indices.

Among them, academic reputation is 40, job market reputation is 10, teacher-student ratio is 20, teacher research is 20 and international teacher ratio and international student ratio is 5.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States topped the list for the tenth time in a row.

In second place is the University of Oxford, in third place is Stanford University, in fourth place is the University of Cambridge and in fifth place is Harvard University.
