Is Publication Necessary for Studying in Abroad?

SM Nadeem Mahmood: I always get a sort of email or inbox from those who are interested in studying abroad. Many are asking, brother, I don't have a publication, I can't apply outside. Is it possible to apply for a scholarship without publication? So I want to discuss something about this. In fact, how important is it to have a research paper or publication in order to do a Masters or PhD abroad?

There are many scope to study abroad after SSC from Bangladesh. But Now we will discuss about study abroad on scholarship, or higher study abroad by self-cost. Bangladeshi student have a great opportunity to study abroad UK. They will find privileges of UK study abroad. Now my main discussion point is:

You see, when you want to study abroad from Bangladesh, and go to do masters, you will come back after graduation. The current education system in Bangladesh is limited to field work or internship after graduation in the last year. It is not possible to get enough data from there to do research or publish. But those who are graduating in science subjects outside the country, many universities have to do research in a specific lab from the fourth year after the third year. Basically some of the basics of research are taught there. Unless there is a very special student, it is never possible to publish in this one year.

Since there is no such opportunity in our country, having a publication is never the main thing to do outside of Masters. The professors here know that it is never possible for an undergraduate student to come up with a publication. So it is better to accept this openly, no research paper is required to apply for Masters.

For admission to PhD, many people think that it is not possible to apply without publication. The so-called teachers of the universities of our country also hang this radish and urge a student to publish it in his master's thesis. Even after the results of the masters, many students were stopped and taken to work. And it is rotated day after day for publication. Which is completely immoral in my language. This is a waste of time year after year for students coming to do PhD abroad for misleading information from teachers. But do you need to publish research at all for PhD application?

No no No need. Because, it is never possible for most of the students to be successful in the project / thesis while doing Masters. And it is never possible to publish if it is not successful. Our teachers do not have the strength to tell the truth like today. Those who call you for a PhD know that your chances of having a publication are zero. What they consider in the application is what subject you have done your Masters thesis on, what techniques you have mastered during this time. Apart from this, there is no eligibility criteria for evaluating PhD application.

I have seen many boys and girls apply for a list of recent publications, but those who evaluate never get such publications from you. And if anyone else, that's fine too. If not, there is nothing to blame. So, day after day, do not bother to apply for these publications. Remember, your will power, your great ability. Stick to it, you will see that one day you will be successful.
