Thousands of students from Bangladesh go abroad every year to study; The first choice for undergraduate students is a university in the United States. However, the main competition revolves around the Ivy League. What is the Ivy League? Nawal Naz, a student at Yale University in Connecticut, USA, gave details about the universities included.


What is the Ivy League?

The Ivy League is an athletic conference of eight private higher education institutions in the Northeastern United States. These educational institutions are very popular and traditional. Only 5.6 to 7.3 percent students get the opportunity to study in these universities. The graduates who come out of these every year, all of them contribute somewhere in the world. Fifteen presidents of the United States were graduates of one or the other Ivy League college. The universities included in the Ivy League are:


Harvard University

Harvard is one of the most prestigious, challenging and richest universities in the world. Harvard University has arts and sciences, engineering and applied sciences, a business school, a divinity school, a school of government, as well as medical and law schools.


Yale University

Yale University is the third oldest university located in New Haven, Connecticut. The university runs 15 academic schools through three major academic components. These are Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and The Professional School.


Princeton University

Princeton University is one of the best universities in the world located in the state of New Jersey in the United States.


Columbia University

Columbia University is a private university in New York City, of United States (USA). It is one of the oldest universities in the country. This university is ahead in terms of research.


Brown University

Brown University was established in 184 as Rhode Island College. It is the 3rd oldest educational institution in the New England area and the 7th oldest in the United States.


Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College is a university where you will find an academic-friendly environment as well as technological advancement and research-based courses.


University of Pennsylvania

University of Pennsylvania in West Philadelphia. It was founded by Benjamin Franklin, the founder of the United States.


Cornell University

Cornell University is a private and legal research university located at Ithaca in New York. Every year a small number of students from Bangladesh get the opportunity to study in this university.
