Harish Chowdhury was in hiding for 14 long years by evading the eyes of the detectives. He did not go to India or London. He was inside Bangladesh and spent most of his time in Dhaka. 

He stayed in Sylhet for some time after 'One-Eleven'. After coming to Dhaka, he changed his name. Named Mahmudur Rahman. He was known by this name for 14 long years. Introduced as a retired professor. He spent about 11 years in Dhaka's Panthapath with this identity. During this time he also took a passport named Mahmudur Rahman. Passport number BW0952982. The address is Srimangal, Moulvibazar. Father's name is Abdul Hafiz. 

This passport was issued from Dhaka on September 7, 2016. It is seen in the picture given in the passport that many changes have taken place in his appearance at this time. White long beard. Hair color is very white. Impressed with age. He got not only passport but also national identity card in the name of Mahmudur Rahman. His NID number is 1956339506. I continues to search on the basis of passport and NID. After about two months of searching, I came to know that Professor Mahmudur Rahman is the popular political leader Harish Chowdhury. 

We have got the details of how he was in Dhaka. He lived in a rented apartment complex on Panthapath in Dhaka. He would not leave the house very often. He had a maid and a son with him. He used to spend time reading books. He used to perform prayers regularly. He was afflicted with various diseases. "I have been working here for three years," said Saiful Islam, manager of the apartment complex. I didn't know much about him personally. I heard that his wife and children live in London. No one ever came. I would greet him when he came and went. He would greet with a smile. Everyone knew him as Professor Saheb. This lonely man also dies in loneliness. 

Saiful said that one morning someone took him to the hospital. I heard that he died after being in the hospital. I see his daughter after death. At first he didn't even want to tell us that he was dead. He was in this house with his son-in-law for two months after his death. They left home last January. Harish Chowdhury would not come out very often. He didn't even talk. He used to buy medicine from a pharmacy in front of this house. 

According to the pharmacy, he used to buy medicines for hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. The owner of the pharmacy, Sumon Khandaker, said, "Sir, he was a very good man. Never took the the medicine unless paid the money. 

Next to a grocery store. He used to buy goods from this shop. Shop owner Mohammad Sujan said he was a very good man. He used to buy rice, pulses and oil from my shop all the time. The flat owner said he did not know anything about his death. Professor Saheb used to pay regular rent. He was a good man.

Mahmudur Rahman was admitted to the hospital. Burial is also in this name. Investigation shows that he was admitted to Dhaka's Evercare Hospital on August 26 last year after suffering from corona. Earlier, he was admitted to another hospital. Died on 3rd September. The death certificate states he died of covid with septic shock. Asked why this secrecy and hiding, Samira Chowdhury said it was not easy to reveal the story of the man who had been in hiding for 14 years. Many fears and anxieties have worked. However, I can say for sure that Professor Mahmudur Rahman is my father Harish Chowdhury. Once the DNA test is done, it will be revealed. I have spoken to him more than once on the telephone from London while he was alive. My husband also met her once in Dhaka four years ago. I had regular contact with my brother Naeem Shafi Chowdhury in Switzerland. She is currently working as a Senior Energy Analyst in Switzerland. Uncle Selim also kept in touch. Who recently died.
